During April 12-15, 2025, ESCMID 2025 witnessed thousands of visits to Zybio’s reliable Precision Diagnostic Solution with molecular and microbiology flagships at Hall B B40. Meanwhile, we are honored to have experts and audiences to our flash session during the congress about an abstract accepted by ESCMID, titled Optimizing Pretreatment for MALDI-TOF MS: Evaluating the Dispersion Method for Filamentous Fungal Identification. The study evaluates dispersion method for filamentous fungal identification compared with traditional method and finds considerate increase in accuracy and saved time. 

Precision Diagnostic Solution: Facilitating Rapid and Accurate Infection Control

Based on widely recognized molecular and microbiology platform, new products like EXP 960 Automated Real-time PCR System and EXB 120 Blood Culture System have gained visitors’ focus besides Zybio’s flagships like EXM 3000 Automated Nucleic Acid Extraction System and EXS 2600 MALDI-TOF MS System.

EXP 960, which is as light as 20 kg and needs less than 0.2 m² floor space, is equipped with 96 sample positions to support nucleic acid testing of large amount of samples. It features outstanding temperature control for faster test results and better testing performance. The EXB 120 Automated Blood Culture System features excellent antibiotic absorption, precisely formulated bottle environment and accurate temperature control module to ensure reliable detection results. Its ergonomic design, aimed to streamlines laboratory workflow, wins the iF Design Award in 2025. 

ESCMID Flash Session: Validated Cutting-Edge Technologies

During the congress, 4 abstract posters were successfully accepted by ESCMID and showcased during the congress. One of them, titled Optimizing Pretreatment for MALDI-TOF MS: Evaluating the Dispersion Method for Filamentous Fungal Identification, was accepted for an oral presentation.

The study evaluates dispersion method for filamentous fungal identification compared with traditional method, and finds higher species-level identification accuracy of dispersion method compared with traditional extraction method, reaching 83.67% and 76.53% respectively. Higher accuracy are found with dispersion method in identifying Cladosporium (93.55% v.s. 76.47%), Aspergillus (81.58% v.s. 76.32%), Penicillium (83.33% v.s. 66.67%), etc. Moreover, the dispersion method eliminated centrifugation steps, saving 40% overall sample processing time while maintaining reproducibility.
